When I made this collage with pictures and text from magazines, I had no "political" meanings at all. The flag was just a goodlooking piece for a hat, and it made a good contrast with the landscape. ("Niet bang" is not in German, but in Dutch or Flemish, meaning "nao receoso" if I'm not mistaken ) The lady on the picture looks afraid, but she tries to convince herself that she isn't. We used to do that as a child in the dark: "I'm not afraid, not afraid,...". Sometimes it worked, sometimes it did'nt...

The face reminds me a soldier. A soldier must be afraid, I suppose. Mainly when fighting in the war.
"Niet bang" of Mr. Bush's politics anymore?
